I love peaches but I have been having a problem with going bad before I could eat them all. Usually if I have the opportunity to I would buy 1 to 3 pounds worth of peaches at a time. But this year we had bought 25 pounds worth of peaches and I have been looking for ways to preserve them. So far I have found two maybe three ways to preserve them.

The first method I had tried was canning the peaches. I always loved canned peaches but had never actully tried to can them myself until recently. I was surprised to find that they are actully really easy to can.
All you really need is a canning pot for a water bath. a bunch of pealed peaches. (They are really easy to peal if you boil them for 30 seconds.)
Some jars that have been sanitized the lids need to be sanitized as well. I boil the lids in a separately from the jars. After I pealed the peaches, I cut them into slices and placed them into the sanitized jars.
At the sme time I was peeling and slicing the peaches I had also perpare a simple syrup. (The syrup I used was 2 cups sugar for 8 cups waters, but you can also do 2 cups suger for 6 cups water if wanted)
I had poored the syrup into the jars making sure t wasn't filled all the way to the rim and that the lid was tight. After that they went into the water bath for 25 minutes.

I had canned half of the box of peaches. I needed up getting 5 1 liter jars and and just about 6 to 8 jars of the smaller jars. I believe the smaller jars were 500ml.
The second method I used for the peaches was to cut them up and freeze them for smoothies or just to have for later. I mixed a couple of paches with other fruits, such as bananas and strawberries. They are prefect for smoothies in the hot summer days.
